University of Southern California - and Vivantech

USC joined Kuali in 2007, as a development partner for KFS and a founding member for Kuali Student and Kuali Ready. USC’s resource investments support multiple Kuali projects    including KFS, KC, Rice/KEW, and KS.

The relationship with VivanTech, a Kuali Commerical Affiliate and USC began in late 2007. Since that time, USC is among the first institutions to “go-live” with a KFS 3.0 module, and now 4.1 module in production, running on MySQL. During the initial phase of their KFS implementation, USC and their implementation partner, VivanTech, developed some custom features and tools. The FFD tool found in KFS 3.0 is a USC contribution to the Kuali Community.

USC is taking advantage of VivanTech’s iPhone apps that allow administrators to access and work with tasks in their KFS and KC Action List. The KFS mobile app boasts many features including Action Item Notifications, VivanTech Secure Authentication Proxy (V-SAP) integration, VivanTech ColorKue ™, “Push” Synchronization, and more, while the KC mobile app allows users to login in on their mobile device and allows them to customize personal settings, page views, and more.
