OBJECTIVE

The objective of having Kuali Commercial Affiliates is to provide an ecosystem of services surrounding the delivery of administrative systems by the Kuali Foundation. While Kuali Foundation delivers open source systems, it does not provide services that many institutions require for planning, implementation, hosting, support, etc. These services can be provided by vendors, who can build a business model around some or all of these types of services. There is value to Kuali and its adopters in having these services available from KCAs for a fee. There is value to the KCA by having the ability to provide these services for a fee.

MEMBERSHIP

To become a Kuali Commercial Affiliate, the vendor becomes a member of the Kuali community and pays annual dues. Beyond that, the level of commitment and investment is up to the KCA.

BENEFITS

The benefits of becoming a Kuali Commercial Affiliate are:

• Recognition of the membership status by the Kuali Foundation and its members and partners.
• Opportunities for vendor visibility within the community, including presentations, sponsorships, Kuali Days activities, etc.
• Visibility on the Kuali web site, in publications, and in other communications to members, partners and adopters.
• Access to communication vehicles to stay in touch with institutions and participants in the Kuali Foundation.
• Notice about opportunities to provide certain types of services to the community. For example, as Kuali aggregates services and sources them, KCAs will have opportunity to be a selected provider.
• Overall credibility with the community; current members have more confidence in others who are members.
• Support of Kuali; without members Kuali cannot continue to exist and deliver these systems
