IRB Human Subjects

The KC IRB module was first released in November 2010, and is the first research compliance module released in Kuali Coeus.

The IRB module allows a Principal Investigator to: 

  • Create, amend, and renew a protocol for work with human subjects
  • Submit protocols for review and approval
  • Request status changes to existing protocols
  • Notify the IRB office on protocol actions

For the institution's Human Subject Protection Program:

  • Create and maintain IRB committees and members
  • Generate meeting schedules, agendas, and minutes
  • Route protocols to reviewers
  • Manage formal correspondence and notifications
  • Create custom questions and questionnaires using branching logic

For the IRB committee/reviewers

  • Online Review, including review comment management, institutional configuration to set visibility of reviewer identity, and workflow and business process for reviewer assignment and submission
