The KC IRB module was first released in November 2010, and is the first research compliance module released in Kuali Coeus.
The IRB module allows a Principal Investigator to:
- Create, amend, and renew a protocol for work with human subjects
- Submit protocols for review and approval
- Request status changes to existing protocols
- Notify the IRB office on protocol actions
For the institution's Human Subject Protection Program:
- Create and maintain IRB committees and members
- Generate meeting schedules, agendas, and minutes
- Route protocols to reviewers
- Manage formal correspondence and notifications
- Create custom questions and questionnaires using branching logic
For the IRB committee/reviewers
- Online Review, including review comment management, institutional configuration to set visibility of reviewer identity, and workflow and business process for reviewer assignment and submission
