Support

If you have questions about Kuali Student (KS) products or the KS project in general, the Kuali Student Community provides a number of resources for you to get support including community-led email lists, product documentation, conferences and events, and commercial partners.

Email Lists

The Kuali Student Community supports email lists for implementors, developers, and designers as well as for functional users. Lists are actively monitored by subscribers including KS project team members. Posting questions to the list is often a very expedient way of getting help. Traffic on these lists is light but growing.

  • ks.functional.collab@kuali.org : Our functional email list for those interested in learning more about Kuali Student products or the project in general. Functional product questions should be directed here, as well as questions about the project, its future direction, how to get involved, etc. We will use this list to push out project announcements as well. We encourage everyone to subscribe to this list. Sign up for the list here!
  • ks.collab@kuali.org : Our technical collaboration list for developers and implementors to discuss compiling and building source code, new code development, implementations, integration, configuration, and customization. Direct all technical questions to this list. Sign up for the list here!

To Join a List Follow These Steps:

  1. Create an account on Kuali Information System (KIS) - the project's single sign on system that gives account holders access to many project resources, including mailing lists. A How-To document is found here.
  2. To join an email list, please click on the list you wish to join above. You'll be taken to a page where you can click on the "Add self to this group" link. If you do not see the link on that page then please Login or Create a KIS Account.

Product Documentation

The Kuali Student Community publishes technical documentation online to support developers, designers and implementers as well as functional product evaluators. KS online documentation is usually the first place to go for information. Our current documentation can be found on our wiki.

Conferences and Events

Attendees at community conferences and events find that the training, demonstrations, how-to sessions, seminars, access to experts, and informal discussions with peers are all very useful ways to gain a valuable understanding of the Kuali Student products and find solutions to local problems. Key events where Kuali Student is discussed include:

  • Kuali Days: The annual Kuali Days event is the premier event for our distributed community to meet face-to-face, strengthen working relationships, and learn from one another. Representatives from universities, KS project teams, and commercial affiliates attend this event.
  • Industry Events: Representatives from the Kuali Foundation, KS project teams, and implementing institutions regularly present at industry events such as EDUCAUSE. Look for us at your favorite event.
  • Hosted Demos: Periodically the Kuali Student project team will host online demonstrations and seminars. These will be publicized through the email lists above and through the project's websiteblog, and Twitter account.

Commercial Support

Commercial support for Kuali Student products is available through Kuali Commercial Affiliates. Currently commercial support offerings for Kuali Student are limited; however, the KS project team is working with several commercial affiliates to expand their capabilities. Fostering commercial support is a key element of our long term support strategy.
