Boston, MA - December 1, 2010 - Boston College has joined the Kuali Student initiative as a contributing partner.  Boston College has made this step to help further the development of the open source Kuali Student system – “the next generation student system.”  Boston College will be leveraging its investment along with the significant contributions from the other partners including Indiana University, Carnegie Mellon University, Naval Postgraduate School, San Joaquin Delta College, University of California Berkeley, University of Maryland, University of Southern California, University of Washington and University of British Columbia.

“Boston College is pleased to join the Kuali Student founders and partners and we hope to help strengthen the team.  We see this as an opportunity to collaborate on an important and innovative system – one where we share the vision for functionality, technology and cost-effective management,” said Michael Bourque, Vice President for Information Technology at Boston College.

“The Kuali Student Team is delighted to welcome Boston College to the project” said Bill McLean chair of the Kuali Student Project Board and Associate Vice President for Academic Services, University of Maryland College Park.  “Boston College has a long tradition of bringing innovative solutions to the challenges of providing effective administrative services.  Having them join the team will certainly bolster the project. We look forward to working with our BC colleagues.”

Kuali is a growing community of universities, colleges, businesses, and other organizations that have partnered to build and sustain community source software for higher education, by higher education.
