The Kuali Financial System is pleased to announce the release of KFS 4.0.

KFS Release 4.0 includes three major deliverables as defined and approved by the Kuali Financial System Functional Council:

  • Kuali Endowment Module
  • Kuali Coeus/Kuali Financial System Integration
  • Usability and Bug Fixes

Kuali Endowment Module

The Kuali Endowment Module (KEM) system delivers the means to account for the investments, investment transactions, obligations and the underlying funds to which those assets and liabilities belong.  The module includes:

  • Investment tracking and reporting
  • Investment participation (endowment and non-endowment) management and reporting including unitized transaction.
  • Budgeted and actual income projections (pooled funds and separately invested holdings)
  • Access to donor instructions
  • Manage available funds with searchable data elements describing the terms of use.
  • Beneficiary disbursement process and information (tax) reporting

Kuali Financial System integration with Kuali Coeus

The integration of Kuali Coeus and Kuali Financial System facilitates:

  • Creation of accounts in KFS when proposals are awarded in Kuali Coeus.
  • Look up and use of shared values, such as, object codes.
  • Loading of approved KC award budgets into KFS.

Usability issues and bug fixes

This release also marks the first time that multiple implementing schools supplemented the development efforts of the sustaining team by contributing a little over 1/3 of the bug fixes and usability items.
