Kuali Foundation Training Plan  for 2011-2012

The primary goals of the Kuali Foundation Training Program are to inform, prepare, and train Kuali Project Teams and Member Institution Personnel in the use of the Kuali Systems, both for technical and functional applications. This Training Plan provides a framework of what the Foundation plans to do to support training and also outlines the steps required to design, develop, and deliver the training for Kuali developers and users.

By using a partnership between The Kuali Foundation and its Commercial Affiliates, we believe that the immediate training needs can be met in the short term and realized for the long term.

To test our plan’s success, we will re-evaluate the training program periodically to determine if it is effective and fills the Project and Community needs.

Vivantech Training Offerings - Just-in-Time Developer Training

VivanTech offers a variety of classes and training sessions specifically aimed at Kuali developers. Classes offer greater depth of training material and range in duration of three to five days either on campus, VivanTech’s facility, WebEx and/or combination of delivery methods. Sessions are more focused on a particular topic and range in duration of one to eight hours (including a follow-up hands-on lab session).

Our sessions can be selectively combined to form a curriculum that addresses specific needs of a development team. Before we recommend or customize any courses for our clients, VivanTech would like for all trainees to participate in a technology survey.  This survey is designed to understand the level of the developer’s skills in Java and Kuali technology.  Based on the technology survey findings, VivanTech can customize and design the following for a training engagement that we feel provides essential instruction to meet our clients’ unique business and technology needs.
