Getting Help with Rice

Visit the Support page for information on overall support options for Kuali software including for pay support options through our commercial affiliates. Below are some Rice-specific options for getting help.

Rice Collaboration Group

The Kuali Rice Collaboration group is open to implementers, contributors, and anyone who is interested in implementing Kuali Rice in support of implementations of Kuali applications (KFS, KC, KS, etc) and for developing custom applications that leverage Kuali Rice.

This group maintains an email list for questions and information on Rice and meets regularly as a venue for community engagement related to Kuali Rice efforts.

You can find resources for joining the community mailing list, the wiki, and JIRA in our Collaboration Wiki Space. Additionally, you can find the agendas of past and upcoming collaboration group meetings.

Bugs and Enhancements

The Kuali Rice team uses Atlassian JIRA as its bug and task tracker. If you have discovered a bug in Rice or if you would like to suggest an enhancement, please log the issue in our JIRA system.

Instructions for Logging an Issue in JIRA:

  • You'll need to establish a user account in JIRA if you don't already have one. Create a Jira account using KIS.
  • Once your account is established, you'll need to login to the system.
  • After logging in, choose the "Create New Issue" tab at the top.
  • Choose the appropriate issue type - whether this is a bug, an enhancement, etc.
  • Then make sure to choose "KRICE Development" as the project.
  • Finally, fill in the following fields with as much information as possible - Summary, Component (choose Development if unsure), Rice Module, Description, Affects Version/s (only if a bug), and Environment.
  • We'll receive the report and handle detailing out the rest of the fields. You'll be notified when we change the issue.
